Olga Peretyatko, Juan Diego Flórez, Linda Watson & Rámon Vargas Headline Wiener Staatsoper’s Streaming Slate

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the streaming program for the week featuring Wagner, Beethoven, Puccini, Mahler, and Verdi.

The week begins with Wagner’s “Siegfried” conducted by Adam Fischer and starring Christian Franz, Linda Watson, Tomasz Konieczny, and Jochen Schmeckenbecher. The production comes from a run in 2016.

Streaming Date: March 30, 2021

Wagner’s “Gotterdammerung” will be streamed from a 2016 performance with Adam Fischer conducting. Christian Franz, Linda Watson, Jochen Schmeckenbecher, and Eric Halfvarson star.

Streaming Date: March 31, 2021

Michael Volle, Hans-Peter König, Ricarda Merbeth, and Herbert Lippert headline a 2015 performance of Wagner’s “Die Fliegende Hollander” conducted by Peter Schneider.

Streaming Date: April 1, 2021

The company will stream a ballet performance of Mahler and Liszt’s music.

Streaming Date: April 3, 2021

Beethoven’s “Fidelio” will be streamed from a 2016 performance. Peter Schneider conducts a production that stars Klaus Florian Vogt, Anja Kampe, Evgeny Nikitin, Stephen Milling, and Valentina Naforniţă.

Streaming Date: April 4, 2021

Rámon Vargas, Maija Kovalevska, Alessio Arduini, Adrian Eröd, and Ildikó Raimondi star in a 2014 performance of Puccini’s “La Boheme.” Mikko Franck conducts.

Streaming Date: April 5, 2021

The week ends with a production of Verdi’s “Rigoletto” starring Carlos Álvarez, Juan Diego Flórez, Olga Peretyatko, Ain Anger, and Nadia Krasteva. Evelino Pidò conducted the 2016 performance.
