Nicole Heaston to be Featured in Houston Grand Opera’s ‘Live from The Cullen’ Series

By Logan Martell

On April 9, 2021, Houston Grand Opera will present April’s installment of “Live from The Cullen,” featuring a performance from soprano and HGO alumnus Nicole Heaston, set at the Wortham Theater Center.

Accompanied by Richard Bado, HGO chorus master and director of artistic operations, Heaston will deliver a recital of classics from the American songbook.

Heaston is a frequent collaborator in the HGO Digital Season and she has performed in works such as “Vinkensport, or The Finch Opera,” “The Impresario,” and “Giving Voice.”

The soprano recently performed a “Favorite Arias and Spirituals” concert at the Houston Ebony Opera Guild this past February as well as in “A Night of Black Excellence” at Fort Worth Opera.

She has been noted by the Houston Chronicle for “warm, supple soprano,” and by the New York Times for her “radiant, and handsomely resonant voice.”

The recital will be available to stream for free via HGO’s website, or Marquee TV.
