By David SalazarMusic at Co-Cath (MACC) has announced its 2025–26 season under the theme “Light in the Shadows: Choral Journeys of Hope and Renewal.”
“Our season asks audiences to travel with us through darkness into light,” said Artistic Director Alejandro Zuleta per an official press release. “With works that span centuries, from Victoria to Shaw, we’re building moments of awe and intimacy that speak directly to the human need for hope and healing.”
The season will open with “From Death to Eternal Light,” featuring Tomás Luis de Victoria’s “Requiem” (1605) alongside Marian motets. These performances will reflect on mortality, transcendence, and spiritual solace through the luminous sound world of the Spanish Renaissance.
Performance Dates: Oct. 17 – 18, 2025
Next up is “Monteverdi Christmas,” drawing on selections from the composer’s “Vespers of 1610” and “Selva morale e spirituale.”
Performance Dates: Dec. 19-20, 2025
The season will conclude with “Seven Last Words,” a pairing of James MacMillan’s “Seven Last Words from the Cross” with Caroline Shaw’s “To the Hands.”
Performance Dates: March 12-20, 2026
