Montclair State Cali Opera to Present ‘Die Zauberflöte’

Montclair State Cali Opera, in collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra, will present Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”on  Jan. 31, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. and Feb. 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

The production, set to take the stage of at the Alexander Kasser Theater in Montclair, N.J., features SeongBoem Choi and Peiyuan Xie sharing the role of Tamino, with Clara Luz Iranzo and Hailey Ji as Pamina. Papageno will be sung by Dean Tarriff and Clinton Garrison, while Claudia Cespedes and Hanbyeol Min alternate as the Queen of the Night. Marcello Fois appears as Sarastro. They are joined by members of Montclair State Cali Opera in supporting roles.

The production is directed by Janine Morita Colletti, with Kyle Ritenauer conducting.

Valentina Cannao provides scenic and costume design, with multimedia and projection design by Lili Federico. Lighting design is by David Orlando, and choreography is by Maxine Steinman.
