Michael O’Neal Singers Announces New Assistant & Cover Conductor

By David Salazar

Michael O’Neal Singers (MOS) have announced that Reece Windjack is its Assistant and Cover Conductor.

He will be mentored by Michael O’Neal, the founder and artistic director of the organization.

“While I’m eager to learn from Michael’s exceptional expertise in choral conducting and performance, what excites me most is gaining insight into how he has inspired others and shaped the greater Atlanta community through choral music,” said Reece. “Michael is not only a gifted conductor, but also a true changemaker, and our work together is grounded in the hope of inspiring others to create positive change. I look forward to building connections with the many individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to this remarkable ensemble,” Windjack said per an official press release.

“We have found in Reece someone eager to learn and grow as a communicator through music,” added O’Neal. “For someone early in his conducting career, Reece possesses a wide range of experiences that will be further enhanced by his association with MOS. I very much look forward to working with this talented and committed musician, and I believe both he and MOS will benefit greatly from this affiliation.”

MOS was founded in 1989 and has established itself as a prominent Southeastern U.S. ensemble. It has produced 22 recordings and has performed at such venues as Carnegie Hall in New York; the historic St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland; St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey in London; as well as the Parisian landmarks of Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur.
