
Metropolitan Opera to Present ‘Jenůfa’ During 2026-27 Season

The Associated Press confirmed the news in article regarding a clash with the production of “Carmen.” The new staging, has appeared at London’s Royal Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, will be directed by Claus Guth.
It will also features sets by Michael Levine, who designed the sets such acclaimed productions as Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” by Robert Carsen, “Carmen” by Carrie Cracknell, and Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” by Anthony Minghella.
When the production first premiered in London OperaWire raved stating that it was “a taut and intensive new production from Claus Guth.”
