Gran Teatre de Liceu Extends Contract of Artistic Director

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has extended Artistic Director Víctor Garcia de Gomar’s contract.
Gomar will now remain with the company until 2031.
The decision was made by the Gran Teatre del Liceu executive, presided by Salvador Alemany, by petition from the President and General Director Valentí Oviedo.
Gomar began at the Liceu in 2019 and has since had an ambitious artistic proposal for the Liceu.
The extension of his contract coincides with the start of Jonathan Nott’s tenure as Music Director and culminates with the opening of the new venue Teatro, el Liceu Mar.
