Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Change for ‘Ariadne auf Naxos’

The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for its final performance of Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos.”

The company noted that the role of the Composer will be sung by Olivia Vote replacing Isabel Leonard.

Vote joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera in the 2018-19 season for the first time for productions of “Die Walküre,” “Suor Angelica,” and her debut as Countess Ceprano in “Rigoletto.” She returned to the Met in the 2019-20 season for the company’s production of “Akhnaten.” She has also performed at the Santa Fe Opera, Hawaii Opera Theatre, North Carolina Opera, and Cincinnati Opera.

Vote joins the a cast that includes Lise Davidsen, Brenda Rae, Sean Michael Plumb, and Brandon Jovanovich. Marek Janowski conducts the production by Elijah Moshinsky.
