Mercury Opera to Present ‘Fall by the Fireside’ Series

By Logan Martell

Following a successful “Summer Lemonade Series,” Mercury Opera will continue to bring outdoor opera to Edmonton with its upcoming “Fall by the Fireside” series.

These performances, which will be held at the Casa Rosso, will feature company artists sharing songs drawing from classical repertory and more before the snow season arrives.

The series will open on September 19, with “Flamenco Fusion by Firelight,” with David Jay The Spaniard.

On September 26, the series continues with “Opera Meets Soul and Country,” with D’orjay, The Singing Shaman.

October 3 will see the Mercury Quintet perform a new program titled “Opera Meets Jazz.”

The series will conclude on October 4, with “Mostly Mozart at Tea Time,” featuring soprano Jodi Penner, accompanied by Kim Cousineau.
