Nadine Sierra made history at the Teatro Real de Madrid with an encore in “Roméo et Juliette.”

As reported by the company, following a seven minute ovation after her aria “Amour ranime mon courage,” the soprano offered an encore on June 13, her final performance of the run.

This is the latest encore the soprano gives for the Spanish audience. In 2023, Sierra received a rousing ovation at the Bilbao Opera of the same aria, and then got a chance to give the first “bis” of her career.

Sierra is known for her portrayal of Juliette having performed the role at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro San Carlo, and Wiener Staatsoper. Up next, the soprano performs “La Traviata” at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

The Teatro Real’s performance of “Roméo et Juliette” is available on demand through June 21 to relive the historic moment.
