Marshall Opera Announced Oral History Project Concert for February 2025
By David SalazarMarshall Opera has announced the program for its upcoming Oral History Project Concert set for Feb. 28, 2025.
The show, which has a duration of 90 minutes, will open with bass-baritone Brett Kendall interpreting Martin Bresnik and J.D. McClatchy’s “I had Nothing.” Next up, soprano Erin Ridge performs “Luz’s Song” from “The Whole World, ” composed by Chandler Carter with a libretto by Diana Solomon-Glover. Then, mezzo-soprano Madeline Coffey interprets “It Need Not Be a Husband” by Tom Cipullo. Soprano Emily Hughes then presents “Song No. 5” by David Chesky.
Tenor Hlati Lwazi takes on “They Park the Car by the Marina” by composer Conrad Cummings and soprano Alina Tamborini sings “But what if you had been intended for me,” composed by Randall Eng with a libretto by Alexis Berner. Following that tenor Reykwaan Adorno presents “This One’s On Me” by Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell, while soprano Laura Andreini presents “On the Beach at Night” by Eric Salzman.
Soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon sings “The Moon Aria,” featuring music by Laura Schwendinger and a libretto by Ginger Strand and soprano Alison Saporta performs “Precious Skies,” by Shirley J. Thompson. Finally, tenor Daniel Kamalic sings “The Seductive Aria of Moeten,” composed by Calliope Tsoupaki with a libretto by Karim Ameur and Serge van Veggel.
Amir Farid performs at the piano and Naomi Lewin is the emcee.
The concert takes place at the Cell Theatre in New York City.
