Marshall Opera to Present ‘Oral History Project Concert’

Marshal Opera is set to present the “Oral History Project Concert” at the Cell Theatre in New York on Oct. 28, 2023.

The showcase, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m., will feature works by Victoria Bond, Michael Dellaira, Kenneth Fuchs, Charles Fussell, Daron Hagen, Adolphus Hailstork, Louis Karchin, Douglas Knehans, Jo Kondo, Tobias Picker, Judith Shatin, Alice Shields, Faye-Ellen Silverman, and Scott Wheeler.

Performers include Mary Rice, Andrea Moore, Jeanai La Vita, Tislan Swift, Shelén Hughs, Monica Niemi, Francesca Frederico, Aline Boyd, Eugenia Forteza, Alize Francheska Royzsnyai, Matt Mueller, Christina Esser, Caroline Spaeth, and Alexa Rosenberg.

They will be joined by pianist Amir Farid and Emcee Renee Heitmann.

The program will have a duration of 90 minutes with a reception to follow.

Marshall Opera was unveiled in May 2023 with the goal to reach and inspire diverse audiences with productions of new and neglected contemporary operas. Mark Shapiro is the Principal Conductor with Jim Schaeffer as the General and Artistic Director.
