
Cantata Singers Set for 2025 Slate
By David SalazarCantata Singers is gearing up for the second half of its 2024-25 season.
The Boston-based organization kicks things off in 2025 with a “Community Sing” at Somerville Armory which brings together community members under the guidance of Guest Artist Sophia Miller in the performance of a wide range of choral works.
Performance Date: Feb. 18, 2025
Next up is the world premiere of “A Map to the Next World,” a concert-length work that features the words of poets, environmentalists, activists, and anthropologists, including Tamiko Beyer, Rachel Carson, Harold Courlander, Joy Harjo, Rachel Morgan, Jay Parini, and Judith Wright.
The performance will be recorded and subsequently made available for purchase.
Performance Date: March 14, 2025
There will be a chamber series featuring the works of Amy Beach, Arthur Foote, Leonard Bernstein, Peter Child, John Harbison, Marti Epstein, Elena Ruhr, and Omar Najmi.
Performance Date: March 30, 2025
Next up is Joby Talbot’s “Path of Miracles” at St. Cecilia Parish.
Performance Date: May 2, 2025
The season ends with “Cocktails & Cantatas” at The Substation.
Performance Date: May 18, 2025
