Composer Mark Bowler’s short film “Fragments of Experience” is set to make its world premiere.

Al animation, 2D animation by Harrison Fleming, along with William Blake’s own imagery, and live performance footage make up the film. This is combined with original music by Bowler for soprano and chamber ensemble. Marianna Suri and the Pierrot Ensemble are the featured artists.

The project is a reflection on the human condition, relationship with nature and the themes felt throughout the pandemic. The work is centered around Blake’s poems “The Fly,” “The Sick Rose,” and “The Voice of the Ancient Bard.” Excerpts from “Introduction to Songs of Experience” and “Earth’s Answer” are also included.

The premiere of “Fragments of Experience” takes place on YouTube Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. GMT.
