London Philharmonic Names Conducting Fellows for 2025-26 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe London Philharmonic Orchestra has named the two early-career conductors who will serve as its Conducting Fellows for the 2025-26 season.
The conductors are Nefeli Chadouli from Greece and Wilson Ng from Hong Kong.
The program, which was established in 2023, allows conducting opportunities for those who are of backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the field, including minorities in terms of gender identity, race, socio-economic background, neurodiversity, disability, or special educational needs.
This seasons two fellow will have the opportunity to work with Edward Gardner, the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Principal Conductor. Gardner will lead mentoring sessions with each Fellow, and both conductors will get the opportunity to act as his assistants.
In a statement, Elena Dubinets, Artistic Director of the LPO, said, “I am thrilled to see our new talent development program generating such remarkable enthusiasm within the music community. Having received more than 200 applications from around the world, we have carefully selected two exceptionally talented early-career conductors through a rigorous audition and interview process involving the entire Orchestra. As they join us next season, we will immerse them in every facet of the Orchestra’s work, providing invaluable opportunities for growth. We eagerly anticipate welcoming them into our musical family.”
