Lisette Orospesa, Asmik Grigorian Lise Davidsen, Rolando Villazón, Michael Fabiano, Brian Jagde, Ailyn Pérez, Aigul Akhmetshina Star in Metropolitan Opera’s 2026-27 Season

The Metropolitan Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

The company opens the season with a new production of Verdi’s “Macbeth,” starring Lise Davidsen, Quinn Kelsey, Freddie De Tommaso, and Ryan Speedo Green. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts a production by Louisa Proske.

Performance Dates: Sept. 22-Oct. 20, 2026


The Metropolitan Opera will present the world premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s “Lincoln in the Bardo — a Met commission co-produced with Los Angeles Opera, with a libretto by Royce Vavrek — directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz and starring Peter Mattei as Abraham Lincoln and Christine Goerke as The Reverend.

Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Steven Osgood conduct a cast that also includes Michael Mayes, Janai Brugger, Stephanie Blythe, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Jonah Hoskins, Joshua Blue, Ryan McKinny.

Performance Dates: Oct. 19-Nov. 14, 2026


Janáček’s “Jenůfa,” directed by Claus Guth and conducted by Tomáš Hanus, will arrive at the Met in a co-production with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Royal Opera House London. The opera is set to star Asmik Grigorian in the title role, Nina Stemme as the Kostelnička, Allan Clayton, and Sean Panikkar.

Performance Dates: Nov. 16-Dec. 4, 2026


Richard Jones will direct a new production of “La Fanciulla del West” starring Sondra Radvanovsky, SeokJong Baek, and Christopher Maltman. Keri-Lynn Wilson conducts.

Screening Date:  Dec. 31, 2026 Jan. 30, 2027


Performance Dates: March 8-April 3, 2027

Così fan tutte” will star Ana María Martinez, Samantha Hankey, Federica Lombardi, Gerald Finley, Duke Kim, and Andrey Zhilikhovsky. Nimrod David Pfeffer conducts.

Puccini’s “La Bohème” returns with Ramón Tebar, Marco Armiliato, and Daniele Rustioni conducting.

Sonya Yoncheva will perform “Medea” with Carlo Rizzi conducting. The cast also includes Chiara Isotton in one performance in the title role, Elena Villalón, Victoria Karkacheva, Michael Spyres, and Alexandros Stavrakakis.

Saioa Hernández, Aleksandra Kurzak, Eleonora Buratto, Natalya Romaniw, and Sondra Radvanovsky lead Puccini’s’ “Tosca” alongside  will star SeokJong Baek,  Piotr Beczała, Matthew Polenzani, Roberto Alagna, Quinn Kelsey, George Gagnidze, and Željko Lučić, and Gabriele Viviani. Oksana Lyniv, Daniele Rustioni, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Karel Mark Chichon, and Marco Armiliato conduct.

Performance Dates: Nov. 11, 2026-May 27, 2027


Giacomo Sagripanti conducts Saint-Saens’ “Samson Et Dalila” with Aigul Akhmetshina, Clay Hilley, Quinn Kelsey, Alfred Walker, Thomas Hall, and Morris Robinson.

Performance Dates: Nov. 27-Dec. 23, 2026


The company will continue with its annual holiday production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.

Enrique Mazzola conducts Donizetti’s “Maria Stuarda” with Lisette Oropesa, Angela Meade, René Barbera, Mihai Damian, and Adolfo Corrado.

Verdi’s “Otello” will be headlined by two casts. The first cast stars Michael Fabiano in the title role alongside Angel Blue, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Yongzhao Yu, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat.

In the spring, Brian Jagde, Ailyn Pérez, Artur Ruciński, Piotr Buszweski, Deborah Nansteel, and Vitalij Kowaljow star in. Michele Mariotti conducts.

Performance Dates:  Jan. 11-May 1, 2027


Verdi’s “Aida” will be headlined by Angel Blue, Anna Pirozzi, and Leah Hawkins. They will be joined by Judit Kutasi, Olesya Petrova, Michael Fabiano, SeokJong Baek, Quinn Kelsey, George Gagnidze, Michael Chioldi, Alexander Köpeczi, Soloman Howard, Huanhong Li, Harold Wilson, Krzysztof Bączyk. Daniele Callegari, Marco Armiliato, and John Keenan conduct.

Performance Dates: March 9-June 12, 2027


Nadine Sierra and Matthew Polenzani headline “Manon.” The cast also includes Carlo Bosi, Andrzej Filończyk, Jean Teitgen, and Rod Gilfry.

Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier” will be conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and will star Rachel Willis-Sørensen, Emily D’Angelo, Ying Fang, Eve Gigliotti, Matthew Polenzani, Brenton Ryan, Martin Gantner, and Günther Groissböck.

Performance Dates: March 24-April 10, 2027


Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts “Parsifal,” which stars Elīna Garanča, Piotr Beczała, Peter Mattei, Ryan Speedo Green, Jongmin Park, and Alfred Walker.
