
Christoph Gedschold Steps Down from Copenhagen Philharmonic

In a statement board chair Board Chair Maria Frej said, “As Chief Conductor, Christoph Gedschold has made a strong artistic mark on Copenhagen Phil over the past few years and has contributed to a number of significant concert productions. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Christoph Gedschold, and we wish him all the best in the future.”
Christoph Gedshold added, “It has been both meaningful and inspiring to contribute to the Copenhagen Phil’s remarkable development and to collaborate with its many talented musicians and producers. I am proud of the productions and projects we have created together, and I wish the orchestra all the best in the future.”
Gedschold is the music director of Oper Leipzig and has conducted at the Semperoper Dresden, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Oper Frankfurt, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Oper Köln, Oper Zürich, Opera de Oviedo, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Radio-Philharmonie Saarbrücken, Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Staatskapelle Weimar, New Japan Philharmonic, and Gothenburg Opera.
