
Lisa Chavez Leads New York City Opera’s ‘Carmen’

The company will present Bizet’s classic “Carmen” on Sept. 4 and 5, 2025.
Lisa Chavez stars in the title role with Gustavo Feulien as Escamillo, Jeremy Brauner as Don Jose, and Eva Dorofeeva as Micaëla. The cast is rounded out by Henry Kim, Jake Russo, Kyaunnee Richardson, John Burke, Kristee Haney, and Tair Tazhi.
Constantine Orbelian conducts the semi-staged production by Enrico Castiglione.
The company recently performed “Opera Goes to Hollywood,” accompanied by the City Opera Orchestra led by Maestro Constantine Orbelian, recreating favorite operatic movie moments.
