L2 Adds Eight Artists to International Roster

L2 Artists has added eight new artists to its international roster, including two conductors, three mezzo sopranos, a baritone, a bass baritone, and a bass.

Conductor Ari Pelto, currently music director of Opera Colorado and principal conductor and artistic advisor of Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera, joins with a résumé spanning London’s Royal Opera to the New National Theatre Tokyo.

Conductor Johannes Witt has led performances at the Wiener Staatsoper, Finnish National Opera, Norwegian National Opera, Dutch National Opera, and the Royal Danish Opera.

Mezzo-soprano Alice Chung has performed Amneris in “Aida” for Boston Lyric Opera and the title role in “Carmen” with Hawai’i Opera Theatre, and has created roles in world premieres with OperaDelaware and Houston Grand Opera.

Mezzo-soprano Catherine Martin has appeared with The Metropolitan Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago in roles including Sister Helen Prejean, Eboli, Waltraute, and Hécube, with recent performances including Santuzza with Sacramento Philharmonic and the District Attorney in “The Central Park Five” with Detroit Opera.

Mezzo-soprano Lisa Marie Rogali has appeared with Virginia Opera, Detroit Opera, and Central City Opera, including portrayals of Carmen and Rosina, Angelina in “La Cenerentola,” and the Offred Double in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Baritone Geonho Lee, a South Korean artist and second year Butler Studio artist at Houston Grand Opera, made his company debut this season as Marco in “Gianni Schicchi,” with additional roles including William Dale in “Silent Night” and Peter in “Hansel and Gretel

Bass-baritone Kyle Albertson has built a career on Wagnerian roles with San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Dallas Symphony, the LA Philharmonic, and Oper Graz, including multiple productions with the Metropolitan Opera.

Bass Andrew Potter has recently appeared as Panthée at Seattle Opera, Angelotti with the Richmond Symphony, and the Commendatore at Opera Omaha, and returned to the Metropolitan Opera this season to cover Timur in “Turandot.”
