By Nicolas Quiroga

L2 Artists Sings has signed intimacy directors Doug Scholz-Carlson and Sara E. Widzer to its roster.

Scholz-Carlson was the Metropolitan Opera’s first intimacy director to work on certified new productions, and is also an opera director, theater director, and fight choreographer. He has collaborated on such projects as “Fire Shut Up in My Bones,” “Eurydice,” “Rigoletto,” and “Don Carlo,” and will be working at the Met on production of “Hamlet,” “Lucia di Lammermoor,” and “Medea.”

He is also artistic director of the Great River Shakespeare Festival.

Widzer has produced operatic and stage works for companies in the United States and abroad. She has also led workshops on performance techniques, creates consent-based spaces, and trains young singers.

“We are excited to represent these esteemed artists in both capacities and empower them as industry leaders who are creating a culture of consent,” said Jeffrey Larson, president of L2 in an official press statement.
