Julie Roset, Sabine Devieilhe, & Reginald Mobley Lead Saint-Denis Festival 2025

Saint-Denis Festival has released details of its 2025 season.

This year the festival puts women in the spotlight, as a “demonstration of the important place that women now occupy in the musical world, particularly in orchestral conducting.” Only vocal works are included in this article.

First up is a preview concert featuring Apolline Raï-Westphal, Louise Bourgeat-Roulleau, Jordan Mouaïssia, Léo Guillou-Keredan, Alexandre Adra, and resident Ensemble Studio Il Caravagio. Camille Delaforge conducts the program centered around Charpentier, Lully, and Lambert.

Performance Date: May 15, 2025 

Pop-up-Opéra stars Emilie Rose Bry, Arnaud Marzorati, and Les Lunaisiens. They program features works by Verdi, Gounod, Mozart, Offenbach, Rossini, Bizet, and Wagner, reworked for toddlers.

Performance Date: May 25, 2025 

Camille Allérat, Julie Roset, and Ana Vieira Leite perform with instrumentalists Ulrik Gaston Larsen, Garance Boizot, and Emmanuel Arakélian in a program of works featuring Du Parc, Louis-Nicolas Clérembault, Honoré d’Ambruis, Michel de la Barre, and others.

Performance Date: May 25, 2025 

Maud Bessard-Morandas along with Gabriele Pro and Quentin Guérillot present Monteverdi’s “Musiques pour Henri IV.”

Performance Date: May 27, 2025 

Cyrielle Ndjiki Nya, Dominique A, Camélia Jordana, and Le Balcon orchestra under the baton of Maxime Pascal perform in pianist Artistic Director Alexandre Tharaud’s carte blanche program.

Performance Date: June 2, 2025 

Donizetti’s “Requiem” is performed by soloists Claudia Muschio, Alisa Kolosova, Bogdan Volkov, Vito Priante, and Jean Teitgen, with the Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris. Speranza Scappucci conducts the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France.

Marc-Olivier Dupin conducts his choral project with middle school students from Plaine Commune, “Alice Swing.”

Performance Date: June 6, 2025 

Julie Roset, Reginald Mobley, Raphael Höhn, Michael Nagy, and André Morsch present Bach’s “St. John Passion” with Chœur de chambre de Namur and Orchestre de chambre de Paris under the direction of Marta Gardolińska.

Performance Date: June 12, 2025 

Sequence 9.3 presents “The little voices.” The program especially for toddlers features popular songs and lullabies by Francis Poulenc and Jacques Ibert. Catherine Simonpietri conducts.

Performance Date: June 15, 2025

Mozart’s “Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots” is performed by Rocío Pérez, Karine Deshayes, Martin Mitterrutzner, and Jordan Mouaïssia. They are joined by Ensemble Il Caravaggio. Camille Delaforge conducts.

Performance Date: June 19, 2025

Sabine Devieilhe and pianist Mathieu Pordoy present a program of works by Fauré, Beydts, Poulenc, Ravel, Roussel, Delage, and Debussy.

Performance Date: June 22, 2025
