Juan Diego Flórez, Tomasz Konieczny, Nino Machaidze & Olga Peretyatko Headline Wiener Staatsoper Streaming Slate

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the next slate of operas that will be presented on its streaming platform over the next week. All broadcasts begin at 7 p.m. CET.

First up is a production of Don Pasquale with Michele Pertusi, Valentina Naforniţă, Juan Diego Flórez, and Alessio Arduini, which will get two broadcasts during the week. Jesús López Cobos conducts the production by Irina Brook. The opera was filmed on May 8, 2015.

Streaming dates: March 23 & 26, 2021

Next up is Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” The opera showcases Carlos Álvarez, Juan Diego Flórez, Olga Peretyatko, Ain Anger, and Nadia Krasteva. Evelino Pidò conducts the production by Pierre Audi. The opera was filmed on Jan. 28, 2016.

Streaming date: March 24, 2021

Massenet’s “Manon” follows. The opera stars Nino Machaidze, Juan Diego Flórez, and Adrian Eröd. Frédéric Chaslin conducts the production by Andrei Serban. The opera was filmed on June 9, 2019.

Streaming date: March 25, 2021

A trio of Wagner operas will bring the streaming slate to an end. First will be “Der Fliegende Holländer” with Michael Volle, Hans-Peter König, Ricarda Merbeth, and Herbert Lippert. Peter Schneider conducts the production by Christine Mielitz. The opera was filmed on Sept. 11, 2015.

Streaming date: March 27, 2021

Next in line will be a production of “Das Rheingold.” The opera spotlights Tomasz Konieczny, Norbert Ernst, Jochen Schmeckenbecher, Herwig Pecoraro, Michaela Schuster, and Caroline Wenborne. Ádám Fischer conducts the production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf. The opera was filmed on Jan. 10, 2016.

Streaming date: March 28, 2021

Finally, the opera house will stream the production of “Die Walküre.” The opera stars Christopher Ventris, Ain Anger, Waltraud Meier, Linda Watson, and Tomasz Konieczny. Ádám Fischer conducts the production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf. The opera was filmed on Jan. 13, 2016.
