The Grand Théâtre de Genève has announced its 2025-26 season.

Opera

Mark Elder will conduct a new production of Wagner’s “Tannhäuser” starring Daniel Johansson, Samuel Sakker, Jennifer Davis, Victoria Karkacheva, Franz-Josef Selig, and Stéphane Degout. Tatjana Gürbaca directs.

Performance Dates: Sept. 21-Oct. 4, 2025

Debussy’s “Pelléas & Mélisande” will star Björn Bürger, Mari Eriksmoen, Leigh Melrose, Nicolas Testé, Sophie Koch, and Charlotte Bozzi. Juraj Valčuha conducts the production by Damien Jalet & Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” will be conducted by Wayne Marshall.

Gaëlle Arquez, Nahuel Di Pierro, Maxim Mironov, Riccardo Novaro, and Charlotte Bozzi star in Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri” with Michele Spotti conducting. Julien Chavaz directs.

Rameau’s “Castor & Pollux” will be directed by Edward Clug and will star Reinoud van Mechelen, Andreas Wolf, Sophie Junker, Ève-Maud Hubeaux, Charlotte Bozzi, Alexandre Duhamel, Giulia Bolcato, and Sahy Ratia. Leonardo García Alarcón conducts.

Corinne Winters and Heather Engebretson headline Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Stephen Costello, Andrey Zhilikhovsky, and Kai Rüütel-Pajula. Antonino Fogliani conducts the production by Barbora Horáková.

Robin Adams, Peter Hoare, Marcel Heuperman, Ziad Nehme, Justin Hopkins, Brenda Rae, Julieth Lozano, and Mike Keneally star in “200 Motels.” Titus Engel conducts the production by Daniel Kramer.
