Le Comte Ory – Des Moines Metro Opera (July 19)

Few operas are quite as exhilarating as Rossini’s late French comedy, here presented in a production from 2014. The cast includes Taylor Stayton in the title role and Stephanie Lauricella. Also in the cast are star singers Sydney Mancasola and Steven LeBrie, just a few years away from their major breakouts. It’s always fascinating to remember that major careers are not over-night sensations and nothing tops seeing major singers in the years preceding their big turns.

Other singers in this cast include Wayne Tigges and Margaret Latimore.
