Barcelona Festival of Song Announces 2020 Slate

The Barcelona Festival of Song has announced the program for the 16th edition of the event, which will take place online.

The event will feature seven concerts, including a global presentation capping the week-long showcase. For this article, the focus will be on vocal performances.

All performances can be viewed on the company’s official website, Facebook, and YouTube pages.

It all kicks off with “Songs of Love & Longing” starring soprano Patricia Caicedo and pianist Nikos Stavlas. The duo will perform music by Oscar Lorenzo Fernandez, Helza Cameu, Claudio Santoro, Acchile Picchi, Patricia Caicedo, Nicolás Gutierrez, Anna Cazurra, Jaime León, Carlos Guastavino, and Edmundo Villani-Côrtes.

Students and teachers of the Barcelona Festival of Song will present a recital of Latin American and Iberian repertory live from the Library of Catalunya and from all around the world.

The 16th edition will draw to a close with a Global Gala Concert starring such artists as Carrie Culver, Lori Sen, Darci Bultema, David Rivera Bozon, Regina Stroncek, Isai Munoz, Alejandro Fonte, Alexa Anderson, Eugenia Forteza, Stella Roden, Emiliano Zapata, and Cherie Hughes.

The festival will also feature additional recitals by such artists as Fernando Mora Ángel (July 10); Abel Roland & Lievenka Van de Meirssche (July 11); and Nikos Stavlas (July 15).
