Mark S. Doss Presenting ‘Heart and Soul Series’ On Sunday Afternoons

By David Salazar

Bass-baritone Mark S. Doss is presenting “Heart And Soul Series” a weekly concert series every Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

In each concert, Doss performs a series of secular and sacred pieces with a discussion of the background of each piece and some comments on technical, musical, and spiritual aspects of each piece.

“I find myself now trying to reach out to my fellow human beings to help them make sense of this terrible time we’re all desperately fighting through,” noted Doss in a press release.

Audiences can view the series on his Facebook or Instagram accounts.

Doss is coming off a season in which he debuted his 100th role – the title character in Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” In 2020-21, he is scheduled to premiere “The Time of Our Singing” at La Monnaie.

He has performed with such organizations as the Teatro alla Scala, the Vienna State Opera, London’s Royal Opera Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Canadian Opera Company.
