Stage director Marcelo Lombardero has joined the roster of GoDirect AM.

Lombardero is one of the most acclaimed stage directors of his generation who has dedicated three decades to culture and opera.

After performing as a baritone in Europe and America, he shifted to being a stage director.

As a baritone he went on to sing such operas as “Rigoletto,” “Macbeth,” “Otello (Verdi),” “Der Fliegende Holländer,” “Tristan und Isolde (Wagner),” ‘Il  Priggioniero (Dallapiccola),” “Don Giovanni (Mozart),” and “Die Tote Stadt (Korngold).”

As a director he has helmed productions at the Teatro Colón, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Seattle Opera, Greek National Opera, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Mayor de Bogotá, Latvian National Opera, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Auditorio de Tenerife, Teatre Principal de Palma, and Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro.

He has also served as Artistic Director of the Teatro Colón de Buenos Airesand was the founder of the Ópera de Cámara del mismo Teatro.
