The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music has announced the program for its 47th season.

Running from July 11 to August 29 and featuring 48 events across 14 venues, this season will mark the last under Artistic Director Alessandro de Marchi after 14 years with the festival.

Among the highlights are three works by Antonio Vivaldi:

Stefano Vizioli directs “Olimpiade,” with a cast featuring sopranos Benedetta Mazzucato and Bruno de Sa; contralto Margherita Maria Sala; countertenors Bejun Mehta and Raffaele Pe; baritone Christian Senn; and bass Luigi De Donato.

Performance Dates: August 4, 6, and 8, 2023.

With music directed by Chiara Cattani and stage directed by Francois de Carpentries, “La fida ninfa” will feature soprano Chelsea Zurfluh; countertenors Nicolo Balducci and Vojtech Pelka; mezzo Eline Welle; tenor Kieran White; and bass Yevhen Rakhamanin.

Performance Dates: August 14, 16, 17, 19, 2023.

“Juditha triumphans,” directed by Elena Barbalich, will showcase soprano Arianna Vendittelli, as well as mezzos Sophie Rennert, Emilie Renard, Anastasia Bolyreva, and Lorrie Garcia.

Performances Dates: August 23, 25, 2023.

“After 14 years of directing the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, a wonderful journey has come full circle for me. In 2010, in my first year as artistic director, Pergolesi’s ‘Olimpiade’ was on the programme. This year it will be Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘Olimpiade’ with which we will open the festival on 4 August. Vivaldi and his birthplace Venice run through the programme like a thread.”
