Francesca Pia Vitale is set to make her debut in her native region of Campania on July 29 at the Ravello Festival.

The soprano will perform in the Sala dei Cavalieri at Villa Rufolo with the theatrical concert “Piccinni e Gluck, una corona per due” created by Valerio Cappelli, together with narrator Sergio Rubini and pianist Luca Gorla.

In a statement Vitale said, “At the heart of the narrative lies a profoundly human consideration: what does it mean to be a great artist destined to live in the shadow of another? Piccinni is obsessed not with winning a challenge but with leaving his own mark. While Rubini’s voice traces his life, the singing gives shape to his most intimate recollections: the music ceases to be performance and becomes memory. After having encountered Gluck on stage in the role of Euridice, this project allows me to become more familiar with Niccolò Piccinni, discovering not only his great musicianship but also his profound humanity. This engagement is particularly significant for me: after so many years on the international stage, singing in my own area feels like a homecoming. This is my artistic debut in Campania: a moment I’ve anticipated for a long time!”

Vitale next performs at the Teatro alla Scala in a production of “La Traviata.”
