The Hungarian State Opera has announced a recital by Anna Netrebko on Sept. 25, 2022.

The company said, “For the first time, international opera star Anna Netrebko appears on the stage of the restored Opera House in Budapest with pianist Pavel Nebolsin to present a romantic aria and song recital.”

The recital will showcase music by Debussy, Dvořák, Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, Richard Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Leoncavallo, and Offenbach. Netrebko and Nebolsin will be joined by mezzo-soprano Elena Maximova and violinist Kurt Mitterfellner.

The recital will mark Netrebko’s latest collaboration with the Hungarian State Opera. In August 2017, the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra participated in a gala evening where Netrebko performed with Yusif Eyvazov at the Waldbühne in Berlin, accompanied by a large-scale television broadcast. She also performed in a concert version of “Andrea Chénier” at the Erkel Theatre in December 2017 and in 2021, Netrebko and Eyvazov visited Budapest again as guests of Müpa, and the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, Chorus and Children’s Chorus in a concert performance of “Tosca.”

Netrebko next performs a concert in Koln before opening the Wiener Staatsoper in a production of “La Boheme.”
