Music Before 1800 is set to present “The Trials of Tenducci” on March 15, 2026 at Corpus Christi Church in New York City.

The Irish Baroque Orchestra, under the direction of Artistic Director Peter Whelan, will join forces with countertenor Hugh Cutting to explore the life and music of Giusto Tenducci, the celebrated castrato of 1760s Dublin. The program features music by Mozart, Gluck, J.C. Bach, Fischer, Arne, and Giordani.

The concert is co-presented by The American Irish Historical Society and supported by Culture Ireland.

The performance kicks off at 5 p.m. local time.

Cutting, who received the Rising Star Award at the 2025 International Opera Awards, is the first countertenor to win the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Award and a former BBC New Generation Artist.
