
Giulio Gari Foundation Announces 2024 Winners Gala
By David SalazarThe Giulio Gari Foundation has announced its 2024 Winners Gala.
Scheduled for Oct. 20, 2024, at the Blessed Sacrament Church in New York City, the event will feature Jonathan Kelly, the Met Opera Assistant Conductor, at the piano alongside five artists.
Performers include winners baritone Trevor Haumshilt-Rocha, soprano Magdalena Kuzma, mezzo-soprano Gabrielle Beatag, baritone Blake Denson, and soprano Mei Giu Zhang.
The concert is free to attend and audience members can reserve up to four tickets each. Tickets will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
Haumshilt-Rocha is a Mexican-American tenor who won the 2024 Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation and First Prize in the Opera at the Florham International Vocal Competition. Meanwhile, Kuzma is a Lindemann Young Artist Program and an avid recitalist, while Beatag is a Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions winner and a semifinalist in the Operalia competition. Denson is a winner of The Richard Tucker- Sarah Tucker Grant Award, The George London Foundation, The International Concurs Tenor Viñas Competition, and The Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition. Zhang has performed with the San Francisco Opera, the Atlanta Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera.
