The Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its performance of “Winterreise.”

The company said, “Due to a recently diagnosed case of tonsillitis, Günther Groissböck will not be able to sing at the concert scheduled for tomorrow. Florian Boesch will perform in his place singing Franz Schubert’s ‘Winterreise.'”

Boesch is a baritone who has performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Theater an der Wien, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Wigmore Hall, among others. This season he performs “Bluebeard’s Castle” at the Wiener Staatsoper alongside Asmik Grigorian, which opens on Sept. 30.
