
Gerda Lissner Foundation Announces Winners of 2026 International Vocal Competition
By David SalazarThe Gerda Lissner Foundation, in association with the Liederkranz Foundation, has announced the winners of its 2026 International Vocal Competition, with four singers taking top prizes following the final round held on March 13, 2026.
Baritone Titus Muzi, tenor Ben Reisinger, baritone Korin Thomas-Smith, and soprano Anna M. Thompson each received a top prize of $12,000. All four will appear in the Winners Concert at Carnegie Hall on April 29, 2026.
Eleven finalists were recognized with grant prizes of $2,000 each including mezzo-soprano Sophia Baete, bass-baritone Sunghoon Han, baritone Samuel Kidd, bass Son Jin Kim, bass Dasol Lee, countertenor Chuanyuan Liu, soprano Tessa McQueen, soprano Page Michels, bass Raul Morales Velazco, baritone Ihor Mostovoi, and soprano Ethel Trujillo.
Five singers received $500 Encouragement Awards, including soprano Kerrigan Bigelow, bass-baritone Lin Fan, soprano Scarlett Jones, soprano Carolina Sullivan, and baritone Lewei Wang.
This year’s jury included Laura Alley, Ken Benson, F. Paul Driscoll, Susan Quittmeyer, and Midge Woolsey. The competition’s collaborative pianist was Arlene Shrut.
