Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida to Present ‘Pride: Then, Now, and Forever’
By David SalazarThe Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is set to present “Pride: Then, Now, and Forever” on June 29, 2024.
The showcase, which will take place at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale starting at 8 p.m., will feature anthems that have resonated with past pride parades, including “It’s Raining Men,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Y.M.C.A.” There will also be more recent hits and the world premiere of “We’ve Come Through the Storm” by Tom Nichols and Dan Chadburn. Also premiering is “Don’t Say Gay,” a work by David Volpe.
Both pieces were commissioned by Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida.
The event is sponsored by Funding Arts Broward, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, The Bears of South Florida, Hunters Nightclub Wilton Manors, Sun Dream Yacht Charters, and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
