The Board of the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini led by General Director Lucia Chiatti has announced unanimously that Cristian Carrara will be the next Artistic Director of the Foundation starting December 2027.

The Board of Directors thanked Carrara for the work carried out in recent years, sharing his objectives and programmatic lines which focused on affirming the identity of the Festival in relation not only to Jesi and Maiolati but also to the small municipalities of the area with high-quality proposals.

In a statement, Carrara thanked the board “for their renewed trust, the positive results achieved so far indicate that the path taken is the right one and are an incentive to improve and look at the programming for the next three years on which he will immediately get to work.”

Throughout his career, Carrara has worked at the Teatro Lirico di Trieste, Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philarmonic, Slovenian Philarmonic, and Berliner Philharmoniker.
