Florentine Opera Announces Immortal Girlfriend to Replace SistaStrings in ‘Covers’ Concert

By Afton Wooten

The Florentine Opera announced that for its upcoming “Covers” performances Immortal Girlfriend will be replacing the previously announced band, SistaStrings. The formally engaged band will be performing on its first world tour.

On Feb. 9 and 10, 2023, the Florentine Opera and Immortal Girlfriend will perform a unique mix of opera classical and modern music at the Cooperage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Soprano Jessica Jones, who performed Gilda in Florentine’s 2021 production of “Rigoletto,” will provide the operatic portions. Brothers Kevin and William Bush of Immortal Girlfriend will bring their blend of “alternative electronic/retrofuture” sound to the mix.

Immortal Girlfriend has film scores and commercial credits. The group was recently recognized by NPR and Essence. Tickets are available now.
