The FEDORA Prizes Biennale has announced its 2025 winners.

The Opera Prize and 100,000 euros went to “The Curing Line,” a multi-platform project by Straymaker that “explores themes of interconnectivity, loss of culture and environmental collapse through the story of a woman who inherits a life-saving cure but loses her capacity to use it.” The work is created by Michael Gallen, the composer, co-director, and co-librettist. His co-creators include Annemarie Ní Churreáin, co-librettist; Shawn Fitzgerald Ahern, co-director, video designers, and choreographer; and Pai Rathaya, set and costume designer.

The Audience Award, which comes with 10,000 euros, was given to Opéra Orchestre national de Montpellier Occitanie’s “Hotel Moctezuma,” which is inspired by Vivaldi’s opera “Montezuma.” The work was created by composer Diana Syrse, librettist José Pérez Sámano, stage director Ewa Rucinska, and choreographer Jean Hostache.

The Education Prize went to “Yallah Danse,” a cooperation project aimed at Algerian youth, while the Digital Prize was given to “YUM!,” a XR music theater piece. Finally, the Danice Prize was given to Northern Ballet’s “Gentleman Jack.”
