Sarasota Opera Receives Major Grant from Community Foundation of Sarasota County for Strategic Planning
By David SalazarSarasota Opera has been awarded a $12,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support consultant fees for the organization’s strategic planning process.
The company has engaged consultants Amy Funk and Peter Hussell of F&H Partners to guide the process, which has involved a 14-member Strategic Planning Committee of Sarasota Opera staff and board members. The committee has participated in a series of working sessions drawing on broader community input, including a public survey and staff discussions, before the final plan is presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
“This planning process will help Sarasota Opera build on its strengths, clarify priorities, and ensure that we continue to serve our community through the power of opera for years to come,” Richard Russell, General and Artistic Director of Sarasota Opera, said, per an official press release.
Funding was made possible through the foundation’s Joseph and Sylvia Bloom Unrestricted Fund.
