Éva Marton International Singing Competition Announces 2024 Winners

The 6th Éva Marton International Singing Competition in Budapest has announced the 2024 winners.

The first went to tenor Jihoon Park while the second prize went to baritone Mihai Damian.

Meanwhile, the third prize went to mezzo-soprano Wu Hongni while Éva Marton’s special prize was awarded to soprano Alexandra Zotova. Finally, the audience prize went to soprano Yeo Yeeun.

The award for best Liszt interpretation went to soprano Zoe Hippius and Park Jihoon. Jihoon was invited by the Hungarian State Opera, which was also offered to Hongni. Baritone Mihai Damian was been invited by Müpa Budapest and the Hungarian Radio Art Group while Zotova was awarded to attend a master class with jury member Anatoli Goussev. Soprano Elizaveta Kulagina received invitations from the Liszt Academy and the Hungarian State Opera and baritone Dinmukhamed Koshkinbayev received the 1000 euros Bravo Baritone Prize from the Classic Mecenat Foundation Of Mongolia. Soprano Shannon Keegan received an invitation from the House of Music Hungary, and soprano Renáta Gebe-Fűgi won a package from the media company Papageno.

The competition, which was held at the Hungarian State Opera, saw a jury made up of Éva Marton, Aanatoli Goussev, Peter Mario Katona, Miguel Lein, Andrea Melath, Szilveszter Okovacs, Christina Sheppelmann, Vittorio Terranova, and Dmitry Vdovin.
