Elsa Dreisig, Nadine Sierra & Riccardo Fassi Lead Livestream of ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ From Staatsoper Berlin

The Staatsoper unter der Linden has announced that it will live stream the premiere of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The opera will star Elsa Dreisig in the role of Countess Almaviva, Gyula Orendt as Count Almaviva, Nadine Sierra in the role of Susanna, Emily D’Angelo as Cherubino, and Riccardo Fassi in the title role. The cast also includes Katharina Kammerloher, Stephan Rügamer, Siegfried Jerusalem, Maurizio Muraro, David Oštrek, and Liubov Medvedeva. General Music Director Daniel Barenboim is set to conduct the Staatskapelle Berlin in the production by Vincent Huguet.

The opera house announced its participation in The Testing Pilot Project of the Senate of Berlin with “Le Nozze di Figaro” on April 2, but that performance will be rescheduled due to the new lockdown in Germany.

The performance will be filmed by the Belair Media and streamed live on April 1, 2021 at 5 p.m. CET on the company’s website, MEZZO.TV, and Medici.TV. RBB Kultur will broadcast the premiere live on the radio.

The Staatsoper unter der Linden is officially closed until at least May 1, 2021.
