The Arena di Verona has announced the casting for its 2022 season.

The season will open with Bizet’s “Carmen” starring Elina Garanča, Clémentine Margaine, J’Nai Bridges, and Yulia Matochkina in the title role. The cast will also include Karen Gardeazabal, Gilda Fiume, Maria Teresa Leva, Lavinia Bini, Brian Jagde, Vittorio Grigòlo, Roberto Alagna, Luca Micheletti, Gëzim Myshketa, and Claudio Sgura.

Liudmyla Monastyrska, Anna Netrebko, Monica Conesa, Latonia Moore, and Maria Teresa Leva lead Verdi’s “Aida” with Murat Karahan, Yusif Eyvazov, Jorge de Leòn, Samuele Simoncini, Fabio Sartori, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Gunther Groissböck, Rafał Siwek Michele Pertusi, Abramo Rosalen, Riccardo Zanellato, Roman Burdenko, Sebastian Catana Ambrogio Maestri, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Sava Vemić, Romano Dal Zovo, Simon Lim, Ekaterina Semenchuk Clémentine Margaine, Anna Maria Chiuri, and Olesya Petrova.

Performance Dates: June 18-Sept. 4, 2022

Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Sebastian Catana, Roman Burdenko, and Luca Salsi take on the title role of Verdi’s “Nabucco” with Samuele Simoncini, Riccardo Rados, Rafał Siwek, Abramo Rosalen, Michele Pertusi, Maria José Siri, and Ewa Plonka.

Angel Blue, Lisette Oropesa, Aleksandra Kurzak, Francesco Meli, Vittorio Grigòlo, Freddie De Tommaso, Artur Ruciński, Igor Golovatenko, Simone Piazzola, Ludovic Tézier, and Luca Salsi star in Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

Oksana Dyka and Anna Netrebko star in Puccini’s “Turandot” with Ferruccio Furlanetto, Riccardo Fassi, Yusif Eyvazov, Murat Karahan, Gregory Kunde, Yonghoon Lee, Maria Teresa Leva, and Ruth Iniesta.

Orff’s “Carmina Burana” will be performed for one night only.

Plácido Domingo’s Verdi gala will showcase Ildar Abdrazakov, Maria José Siri, Fabio Sartori, and Clémentine Margaine.
