Elgin Symphony Orchestra Announces Fourth-Annual ‘Sing-Along Messiah’

By David Salazar

Elgin Symphony Orchestra will present its fourth-annual “Sing-Along Messiah” on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Second Baptist Church of Elgin.

The event will bring together more than 400 participants for an interactive performance of Händel’s famed work. The showcase begins with caroling at 6:30 p.m., followed by the “Messiah” at 7 p.m.

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will be joined by over 35 members of the Elgin Master Chorale, and regional soloists from Midwest Opera Theatre.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Well Child Center, which supports low-income expectant mothers and families in Elgin. Donations will also help stock the Food for Families emergency pantry with baby formula, toddler foods, diapers, wipes, and other essentials.

Since 2022, the Elgin Sing-Along Messiah has raised over $17,000 for local charities, including Food for Greater Elgin, Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, and PADS of Elgin, Inc.
