Cleveland Institute of Music Releases Statement in Regards to Grant Park Music Festival

The Cleveland Institute of Music has released a statement regarding Grant Park Music Festival’s comments on Carlos Kalmar.

Paul Hogle, President & CEO of the Cleveland Institute of Music said, “I cannot speak to the Grant Park Music Festival’s statement. But I want to emphasize that the investigation by an outside, independent party that we retained is ongoing. Our focus remains conducting a thorough, fair, and confidential investigation. To protect the process and privacy of all involved, we do not plan to comment any further. ”

The comment comes after the Grant Park Music Festival noted that it will move forward with Carlos Kalmar as its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor following allegations of Sexual misconduct at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In a letter to the orchestra and chorus, President & CEO Paul Winberg said, that the investigation has “not found evidence that Carlos Kalmar engaged in any harassment.”
