Chicago Fringe Opera to Unleash ‘Op*erratic’ Improv Show

Chicago Fringe Opera will present a new improv show, “Op*erratic” starting on May 28, 2025.

Set to take place at Borelli’s Pizzeria until July 2, the showcase will feature a cast of six rotating performers from a roster of 18 as they improvise a 33-minute opera based on a single audience suggestion. Everything will be invented in real time. The event will also feature a 27-minute set of short-form improv games.

The roster of performers includes  Alannah Spencer, Grace Zieman, Lauren Ingebrigsten, Alex Salas, Isabel Schmitz, Marie Sauze, Allison Mann, Jonathan Cortez, Rachel Girty, E Rudolph, Molly Clementz, Raji Venkat, Evita Trembley, Kat Dalin, SarahAnn Sutter, Gabrielle Goudard, Katrina Dubbs, and Stan DeCwikiel.

The idea for “Op*erratic” was conceived by Artistic Director George Cederquist and music director and pianist Brian Rasmussen.
