Chicago Fringe Opera Announces Summer 2022 Season

Chicago Fringe Opera has announced its summer season.

Kicking things off, the company will present “The Rosina Project,” a contemporary adaptation of Rossini’s comedy “The Barber of Seville” mixed by hip-hop and opera artists.

Performance Date: June 17 & 18, 2022

Next up is “Sounds of Pride,” a short musical program composed and performed by members of the LGBTQ community, including works by Kyra Leigh and Michael R. Oldham. Performers include Kyra Leigh, LaRob K. Rafael, Megan Fletcher, Jonathan Zeng, Michael Oldham,  and Ariana DJ.

All proceeds from this event will go toward a new scholarship at The Voice lab for for queer/non-binary/trans voice students.

In this month of pride celebrations, it’s especially powerful to be part of an event created by, produced, and performed by LGBTQ+ individuals – including singers, composers, and the DJ. All in support of Chicago Fringe Opera & to establish a new scholarship at The Voice Lab, designated for queer/non-binary/trans voice students,” said CFO Company Member Jonathan Zeng in an official press statement issued by the company.
