Cast Change: Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI Announces New Conductor for Christmas Concert

The Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI has announced a cast change for its Dec. 23 concert.

The orchestra said that Belgian-American conductor Giulio Cilona will step onto the podium and conduct the traditional Christmas Concert.

Cilona is the winner of the 10th Ernst-von-Schuch Conducting Prize 2024 and prize winner at the International Opera Conducting Competition 2022 at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège. He is currently Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Principal Guest at the Opera National de Lorraine-Nancy.

Cilona will conduct a program that includes soprano Francesca Aspromonte and includes music by Mozart, Vivaldi, and Bach.

The program will be broadcast live on Rai Radio 3 and streamed on Rai Cultura.
