Canadian Opera Company Announces New Cast Change for ‘Macbeth’

The Canadian Opera Company has announced a cast change for its production of “Macbeth.”

The company said that soprano Tracy Cantin will step into the role of Lady Macbeth for the remainder of the runreplacing an ailing Liudmyla Monastyrska. Cantin will perform on May 17 and 20, 2023.

Cantin made her role debut as Lady Macbeth during the Sunday, May 14 performance. Cantin performed the role of Lady in Waiting during the first four performances. Cantin has performed with the Edmonton Opera, and Santa Fe Opera and is an Alumna of the Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Quinn Kelsey, Önay Köse, and Matthew Cairns. Speranza Scappucci conducts the production by Sir. David McVicar.
