BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Announces 2023 Finalists

The BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition has announced the 2023 finalists.

The finalists for the main prize are Scottish mezzo Beth Taylor, South African soprano Nombulelo Yende, Italian bass Adolfo Corrado, Welsh soprano Jessica Robinson, and South African mezzo Siphokazi Molteno.

The finalists for the song prize are South African soprano Nombulelo Yende, South Korean tenor Sungho Kim, South African mezzo Siphokazi Molteno, English bass William Thomas, and Canadian mezzo Simone McIntosh.

The finals will be held on June 18 with a jury that includes Aidan Lang, Bernarda Fink, Errollyn Wallen, Rosemary Joshua, and Sir Brian McMaster. Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is the patron.

OperaVision will stream the finals on June 20 and will be available through Dec. 20, 2023.
