
Royal Opera House Announces 2025-26 Cinema Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Royal Opera House has announced its cinema season for the 2025-26 season. Here are the opera offerings:
The cinema season opens with Puccini’s “Tosca” starring Anna Netrebko, Freddie de Tommaso, and Gerald Finley. Jakub Hrůša conducts the new production by Oliver Mears.
Cinema Date: Oct. 1 & 5, 2025
Antonello Manacorda conducts Verdi’s “La Traviata” and will star Ermonela Jaho, Giovanni Sala, and Aleksei Isaev.
Cinema Date: Jan. 14 & 18, 2025
Barrie Kosky’s production of Wagner’s “Siegfried” will be conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano. The production will star Andreas Schager, Peter Hoare, Christopher Maltman, Elisabet Strid, Christopher Purves, Soloman Howard, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, and Sarah Dufresne.
Cinema Date: March 31 & April 5, 2025
Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” will be shown in Sir David McVicar’s classic production.
Cinema Date: April 21 & 26, 2025
The company will also present the Metropolitan Opera’s productions of “La Sonnambula” with Nadine Sierra and Xabier Anduaga and “Eugene Onegin” with Asmik Grigorian and Igor Golovatenko.
